Hans Freudentan in Sugiman (2007) says that mathematics is a human activity and must be related with daily activities. To implement that, teacher should be creative, prepare and use various media. Analysis of mathematics learning with Video Tape Recorder (VTR) is a way to improve students’ achievement of mathematics. With VTR that has been done by teacher, other teacher can analyze that VTR and improve it to next mathematics learning in the class. Teacher can develop their ideas about concrete object and implement that in their lesson, especially in mathematics learning.
VTR can be used in many mathematics chapters, for example in geometry. Students try to find the formula of sphere surface area with cover the sphere surface using rope then calculate it. Teacher also can use VTR to teach about fraction, for example to define fraction form, what is simple fraction, fraction operation, fraction conversion, percent, decimal, etc.
Learning with VTR has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of VTR are:
1. Teachers have a chance to select concrete object and use it in mathematics learning.
2. Teachers can improve their mathematics realistic concept.
3. teachers can exchange their experience with other about mathematics realistic learning, etc
Teacher can discuss VTR with other teacher and improve it or make new innovation learning based on their experience.
